Egypt 2 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Exploring Cairo
Morning:
- Start your day early with a hearty breakfast at your hotel.
- Visit the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Take your time to explore the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure. Don’t miss the Sphinx located nearby.
- Head to the Solar Boat Museum where you can see the restored solar barge of Khufu.
Afternoon:
- Have lunch at a local restaurant, try some traditional Egyptian dishes like Koshary or Falafel.

Evening:
- Have dinner at a Nile River cruise restaurant with a folkloric show.

Day 2: Giza to Luxor
Morning:
- Check out from your hotel and take an early flight to Luxor (LXR). Flights are available multiple times a day.
- Upon arrival, visit the West Bank of Luxor to see the Valley of the Kings, where many Pharaohs were buried including Tutankhamun. Don’t miss the tomb of Tutankhamun!
Afternoon:
- Head to the Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as Deir el-Bahri. Its unique design is a must-see.
- After lunch, visit the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Evening:
- Take an overnight train to Aswan, which departs in the evening and arrives early the next morning. Trains are a comfortable way to travel between cities. You can also take a flight if you prefer.
Things to Know:
- Luxor is divided into two parts: East Bank and West Bank. The main attractions are on the West Bank.
- Always have small Egyptian pounds (LE) on hand for tips, toilets, or snacks.
Transportation:
- Taxis, tuk-tuks, and horse carriages are available in Luxor to get around.
- Trains and flights connect Luxor with other cities like Aswan and Cairo.
