East Timor 4-Day Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Dili - Exploring the Capital City

Visa Requirements: A 30-day Tourist Visa is available upon arrival at Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili. You’ll need a passport valid for six months and proof of onward travel or sufficient funds.

Transportation: Taxis are widely available, but negotiate the price before you get in. Alternatively, motorbike taxis (known as ‘moto-taxis’) offer an affordable alternative. Renting a car is also an option, though roads may be challenging for some drivers.

Activities: Visit the Cristo Rei of Dili (a 27-metre tall statue of Jesus), National Palace of Timor-Leste, and the Santa Cruz Cemetery & Memorial, a significant site commemorating the struggle for independence. Explore local markets such as the Mercado Haldane and Mercato Tanoni for authentic souvenirs.
Day 2: Atauro Island - Beaches, Snorkeling, and Fishing Villages

Transportation: Take a ferry from Dili to Atauro Island (approx. 1.5 hours). Boats depart daily.

Activities: Spend the day exploring the pristine beaches, snorkel in crystal clear waters, or visit local fishing villages. Don’t miss Sunset Point for breathtaking views and a unique insight into island life.
Day 3: Maubisse & Manatuto - Traditional Villages and Scenic Beauty

Transportation: Rent a car or hire a driver to travel from Dili to Maubisse (approx. 2 hours) and then onwards to Manatuto (approx. 1 hour). Alternatively, join organized tours available in Dili.

Activities: In Maubisse, visit the local market and learn about traditional weaving techniques. Continue to Manatuto, where you can explore the scenic beauty of its waterfalls and hot springs. Interact with friendly locals and experience their unique culture.
Day 4: Baucau - Portuguese Colonial Architecture and Beach Time

Transportation: Return to Dili and travel east to Baucau (approx. 1.5 hours).

Activities: Visit the historic center of Baucau, filled with beautifully preserved Portuguese colonial architecture. Relax on the nearby beach or take a dip in the ocean before returning to Dili for your departure.
