Dubrovnik 5-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & City Orientation

Arrive at Dubrovnik Airport (DBV): The city is well-connected with major European airports. From the airport, you can take a bus or a taxi to your hotel.

Check-in & Rest: After settling into your accommodation, take some time to rest and freshen up. You’ll need energy for the days ahead!

City Orientation & Dinner: Take a leisurely walk around the Old Town, familiarize yourself with its layout, and enjoy the charming atmosphere. For dinner, try Konoba Pržto or Nautika for traditional Croatian cuisine.
Day 2: Exploring Dubrovnik’s Old Town & City Walls
- Morning: Visit the Franciscan Monastery with Europe’s oldest pharmacy, the Rector’s Palace, and the Bell Tower Climb for panoramic views.
- Afternoon: Walk along the iconic Dubrovnik City Walls. The walk takes about 2 hours without stops. Don’t forget your camera!
- Evening: Relax at Buža Bar, a unique bar located outside the city walls. Enjoy local wines and snacks while overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
Day 3: Lokrum Island & Beach Time
- Morning/Afternoon: Take a ferry to Lokrum Island (approx. 15 min from Old Town). Explore the Benedictine Monastery, botanical garden, and peacocks roaming freely around the island. Don’t miss out on swimming at Dead Sea Beach!
- Evening: Return to Dubrovnik and have dinner at Proto, known for its creative Croatian cuisine.
Day 4: Day Trip to Montenegro (optional)
- Early Morning: Take a day trip to Montenegro, visiting the stunning Bay of Kotor, Perast, and the fortified town of Kotor. You can book a guided tour or rent a car for the day.
- Evening: Return to Dubrovnik and have dinner at Restaurant 360° for a romantic sunset dining experience.
Day 5: Game of Thrones Tour & Departure
- Morning: Take a Game of Thrones tour to explore the filming locations around Dubrovnik, including King’s Landing and the Red Keep.
- Afternoon: Spend your last hours in Dubrovnik shopping for souvenirs or revisiting your favorite spots.
- Departure: Head to the airport for your flight home. Safe travels!
Things to Note
- Dubrovnik can get quite crowded during peak season (June - August), so it’s best to start your day early.
- Tickets for the City Walls, museums, and Game of Thrones tours can be purchased online to avoid queues.
- Croatia uses the Croatian Kuna as its currency. It’s a good idea to exchange some money before you arrive.
- English is widely spoken in Dubrovnik, but it’s always helpful to learn a few basic phrases in Croatian.
Transportation
- Bus: Local buses are a cheap and easy way to get around Dubrovnik. You can find timetables and routes on the Libertas Dubrovnik website.
- Ferry: Ferries operate regularly between Dubrovnik and Lokrum Island, as well as some other destinations. Tickets can be purchased at the ferry terminal.
