5-Day Itinerary for Exploring Dominica
Day 1: Arrival & Roseau City Tour

Arrival at Douglas-Charles Airport (Melville Hall)
- Visa Requirements: Citizens of most countries don’t require a visa to enter Dominica for stays up to six months. Check with your embassy or consulate to confirm requirements.

Transportation: Taxis are readily available at the airport. A taxi ride to Roseau (the capital) costs approximately $30-40 USD.

Activities:
- Roseau City Tour: Visit the colorful capital, explore the local markets, and check out the historic Fort Young.
- Morne Bruce: A short hike to a scenic viewpoint overlooking Roseau.
Day 2: Boiling Lake & Titou Gorge

Transportation: Rent a car or book a tour for the day.

Activities:
- Boiling Lake: The second largest boiling lake in the world. It takes around 2 hours to reach from Roseau.
- Titou Gorge: Swim, jump, and explore this natural wonder not far from the Boiling Lake.
Day 3: Cabrits National Park & Portsmouth

Transportation: Continue using your rented car or join a tour.

Activities:
- Cabrits National Park: Enjoy hiking trails, historical forts, and beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea.
- Portsmouth: Visit this charming town, see the Sisserou Parrot Sanctuary, and take a boat trip to the nearby islands.
Day 4: Indian River & Layou Hot Springs

Transportation: Rent a car or book a tour for the day.

Activities:
- Indian River: Take a boat trip through this mangrove-lined river and enjoy the local cuisine at nearby bars and restaurants.
- Layou Hot Springs: Relax in natural hot springs, located near the village of Wotten Waven.
Day 5: Hiking & Departure
- Activities:
- Morne Trois Pitons National Park: Hike the Boeri Lake trail or visit the Emerald Pool and Trafalgar Falls.
- Departure: Head back to Roseau, return your rental car, and catch your flight home from Douglas-Charles Airport.
Things to Know:
- Local currency is Eastern Caribbean Dollars (EC$). US Dollars are widely accepted but change may be given in EC$.
- English is the official language, and Creole is also spoken.
- Tipping is customary for good service, around 10-15%.
- Don’t forget to pack reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent, and a pair of hiking boots if you plan on exploring Dominica’s beautiful nature trails.
