Costa Rica 7-Day Travel Itinerary
Day 1: San José (Arrival & City Exploration)
- Arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, the capital city of Costa Rica.
- Check into your accommodation and rest if needed.
- Visit the National Museum to learn about the country’s history and culture.
- Explore Mercado Central for local food, crafts, and souvenirs.
- Things to know: The official language is Spanish, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas. The currency is Costa Rican Colón.
Day 2: Arenal Volcano & La Fortuna
- Travel to La Fortuna, home to the impressive Arenal Volcano (approximately 3 hours drive from San José).
- Take a guided hike around the Arenal Volcano National Park.
- Relax at the nearby hot springs after a day of hiking.
- Activity: Adventure seekers can opt for white-water rafting, zip-lining, or horseback riding.
Day 3: Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
- Travel to Monteverde (approximately 2 hours from La Fortuna).
- Spend the day exploring the lush Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and its unique wildlife.

Day 4: Beach Time at Tamarindo

Day 5: Guanacaste National Park & Santa Rosa National Park

Day 6: Manuel Antonio National Park

Day 7: Departure from San José
- Return to San José (approximately 3.5 hours from Manuel Antonio).
- Spend the rest of the day shopping for souvenirs, visiting any missed sights, or relaxing at a local café before departing from Juan Santamaría International Airport.
