Cook Islands 6-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Rarotonga Exploration (Airport - Accommodation)

  1. Arrive at Rarotonga International Airport (RAR) - no visa required for most countries, stay up to 31 days.
  2. Transfer to your accommodation. Recommended: Muri Beach Club or Little Polynesia.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the town of Avarua, visit Punavai Market for local produce and handicrafts.
  4. Enjoy a traditional Island Night at Trader Jack’s featuring music, dance, and food.
  5. Relax on Muri Beach or try out snorkeling in its lagoon.
  6. Overnight stay at your accommodation.

Day 2: Explore Rarotonga - Inland & Coastal Sites

  1. Visit the Highland Paradise Cultural Park to learn about Cook Islands’ history and culture.
  2. Drive around the island, visit the famous ‘Cross-Island’ road for breathtaking views.
  3. Explore the Wigmore’s Waterfall and the Avaava Valley.
  4. Spend the afternoon at Takitumu Beach or Tamarua Bay.
  5. Dine at one of Rarotonga’s renowned restaurants, such as Ikeman or Moemoe Cafe.

Day 3: Aitutaki Island (Flight & Activities)

  1. Morning flight to Aitutaki (flights operate daily from Rarotonga).
  2. Check-in at your accommodation, like the Pacific Resort Aitutaki or Manava Beach Aitutaki.
  3. Spend the day on one of the stunning beaches, such as Ootu or One Foot Island.
