Chile 6-Day Itinerary: Exploring the Wonders of Patagonia and Beyond

Day 1 - Arrival in Santiago 🇨🇱

  • Arrive at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL).
  • Transfer to your accommodation in the bohemian Bellavista neighborhood.
  • Explore the vibrant bar and restaurant scene of Bellavista, or visit the nearby historic district of Lastarria.

Day 2 - Santiago to Valparaíso 🚗

  • Rent a car in Santiago (recommended) or take a bus to Valparaíso.
  • Discover this charming port city known for its colorful hillside houses and bohemian spirit.
  • Visit Sotomayor Square, Cerro Concepción, and the Valparaíso Funiculars.

Day 3 - Valparaíso to Viña del Mar (Valley of Wine) 🍇

  • Drive about an hour from Valparaíso to Viña del Mar.
  • Wander through the beautiful gardens, beaches, and the famous Flower Clock in Viña del Mar.
  • Taste Chilean wines at a local vineyard (bodega) in Casablanca Valley.

Day 4 - Valparaíso to San Pedro de Atacama ✈️

  • Fly from Santiago to Calama, then transfer by bus or private transportation to San Pedro de Atacama.
  • Visit the Moon Valley, Tatio Geysers (early morning visit recommended), and Valle de la Luna.
  • Enjoy a traditional Chilean dinner in this unique desert town.

Day 5 - San Pedro de Atacama to Torres del Paine National Park 🚗

  • Drive about 12 hours (recommended overnight stop in Puerto Natales) or fly to Punta Arenas, then transfer to Torres del Paine.
  • Marvel at the towering granite peaks and glaciers of this Patagonian wonderland.
  • Explore Salto Grande waterfall, Lago Grey, and the iconic Cuernos del Paine.

Day 6 - Torres del Paine to Punta Arenas or Santiago ✈️

  • Depending on your travel plans, return to Punta Arenas by car or bus for your flight home, or continue your adventure in Santiago.
