Chad 2 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Exploring N’Djamena

Morning:

• Arrival at N’Djamena International Airport. Please ensure you have a valid passport and necessary travel documents, including a visa if required (a tourist visa can be obtained upon arrival for most nationalities).
• Check-in at your hotel and freshen up. Recommended hotels: Hôtel Ibis Styles N’Djamena or Hotel de la Gendarmerie.

Afternoon:

• Visit the National Museum of Chad (Musée National Tchadien), which offers a great introduction to the country’s history and culture.
• Explore the Grand Marché, the bustling local market where you can find a variety of goods including traditional crafts, textiles, and food. Be aware of your belongings and respect local customs.

Evening:

• Dine at one of N’Djamena’s restaurants offering Chadian cuisine such as Le Restaurant des Ambassades or La Maison des Pêcheurs.
• Take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Logone River and enjoy the sunset.

Day 2: Discovering Zakouma National Park

Morning:

• Early morning departure to Zakouma National Park (approximately 6 hours drive). It is recommended to hire a 4x4 vehicle with a local driver for this journey.
• Arrival at the park and check-in at the Zakouma Camp or similar.

Afternoon:

• Afternoon game drive in the park, where you can observe elephants, roan antelopes, and African wild dogs among other wildlife species.
• Return to the camp for dinner and relaxation.

Evening:

• Night safari to spot nocturnal animals like pangolins and aardvarks.

Day 3 (Optional):

• Spend an extra day in Zakouma National Park for more game drives and activities such as birdwatching or visiting local villages.

Return:

• Return to N’Djamena, rest, and prepare for departure the next day.
