Cameroon 2 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Exploring the Cultural Heartland - Yaoundé and Douala

Yaoundé (Morning to Afternoon)

  • Musee du Golf: Start your day with a visit to this museum, which houses an impressive collection of Cameroonian art and ethnographic objects.

  • Le Marche des Allez-Courir (Market of the Run-Aways): Experience the vibrant local culture at this bustling marketplace, selling everything from food to traditional crafts.

  • Presidential Palace and Saint-Exupéry Park: Take a leisurely stroll around the Presidential Palace and the adjoining Saint-Exupéry Park, offering a glimpse into the political heart of Cameroon.

Transportation: Taxis are readily available in Yaoundé. For longer trips, consider using Collectivos (shared taxis) or buses.

Douala (Evening)

  • Transfer to Douala: Hop on a flight or road trip to the economic capital of Cameroon, Douala.

  • Restaurant Le Coin Tranquille: Enjoy an authentic Cameroonian meal at this popular restaurant in Bonanjo, offering a variety of local dishes.

Overnight: Hotel Mercure Le Corum or similar in Douala.

Day 2: Adventure and Wildlife - WWF Dja Reserve and Mokoko Waterfalls

Morning:

  • Transfer to Djoum: Early morning flight or road trip to Djoum, the gateway to the WWF Dja Reserve.

  • WWF Dja Reserve: Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to numerous endangered species like the Western Gorilla and the African Elephant. Guided tours are available. Remember to bring mosquito repellent!

Afternoon:

  • Transfer to Mokoko Waterfalls: Head back to Djoum, then continue to the beautiful Mokoko Waterfalls.

Evening:

  • Transfer back to Douala: Return to Douala for your onward journey.
