Cambodia 3-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Siem Reap - Angkor Wat and Angkor Temples Complex

  1. Arrival in Siem Reap (International Airport or Bus Station)

  2. Transportation

    • Tuk-Tuk: The most popular way to get around Siem Reap. A day pass can be purchased for $15-20 USD.
    • Grab: Cambodia’s answer to Uber, widely available in Siem Reap.

  3. Angkor National Museum (8:30 AM - 10:00 AM)

    • Learn about the Khmer civilization and Angkor’s history before exploring the temples. Entrance fee: $12 USD.

  4. Angkor Wat (10:30 AM - 12:30 PM)

    • The largest religious monument in the world, a must-visit when in Siem Reap. Don’t miss the sunrise if you can manage an early start! Entrance fee for one day pass: $37 USD.

  5. Angkor Thom (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM)

    • Explore the ancient city, including Bayon Temple with its unique towers decorated with more than 200 giant stone faces. Entrance fee for one day pass: included in Angkor Wat ticket.

  6. Pub Street (5:00 PM onwards)

    • Enjoy local food and drinks at this lively street, known for its bars and nightlife.

Day 2: Siem Reap - Floating Villages & Phnom Kulen National Park

  1. Transportation to Tonle Sap Lake (8:00 AM)

    • Tuk-Tuk or boat taxi from your accommodation to the lake.

  2. Chong Kneas Floating Village (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

    • Visit one of the largest freshwater floating villages in the world, offering a glimpse into the lives of the local people who live on the water. Entrance fee: $6 USD.

  3. Lunch at a Local Restaurant (12:30 PM - 1:30 PM)

    • Savor traditional Khmer cuisine.

  4. Transportation to Phnom Kulen National Park (2:00 PM)

    • Approximately 1 hour drive from the lake, or arrange for a guided tour if preferred. Entrance fee: $20 USD.

  5. Reclining Buddha, Preah Ang Thom, and River of a Thousand Lingas (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

    • Explore the park’s attractions, including a large reclining Buddha statue, the impressive carved face of Preah Ang Thom, and the sacred carvings along the river.

Day 3: Siem Reap - Banteay Srei & Kbal Spean

  2. Banteay Srei Temple (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM)

  5. Kbal Spean (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM)

    • Explore the ancient carvings along the river and enjoy the scenic waterfall.

  6. Return to Siem Reap & Departure (5:00 PM onwards)

    • Make your way back to Siem Reap for your departure or any remaining explorations.
