Bucharest, Romania 4 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Explore the City Center

Morning: Check-in at a centrally located hotel such as Hotel Mercure Orhideea Bucharest or Ramada Plaza Bucuresti by Wyndham.
Lunch: Visit Caru’ cu Bere for traditional Romanian food and draft beer in a historical setting.
Afternoon: Start your city tour at the Palace of the Parliament, the world’s second largest administrative building. Then, head to Revolution Square and the nearby National Art Museum to learn about Romania’s art history.
Evening: Stroll along Calea Victoriei, one of Bucharest’s oldest streets with various restaurants, bars, and shops. Visit Antipof Coffee Shop & Bistro for a coffee or drink.

Day 2: Museums and Monasteries

Morning: Head to the National Museum of Art of Romania to see an extensive collection of Romanian art, then explore the National History Museum.
Lunch: Savor delicious vegan dishes at HappyCow Vegetarian Restaurant or try a local favorite, Mihai’s Bistro.
Afternoon: Visit the Curtea Veche Museum in the old town of Bucharest (Chisinau), learn about Vlad the Impaler, and explore the beautiful cobblestone streets. Then, head to the nearby Stavropoleos Monastery.
Evening: Dine at Restaurant La Mamo for authentic Romanian cuisine in a charming setting.

Day 3: Day Trip to Snagov Monastery and Transfagarasan Highway

Morning: Take a day trip to visit the Snagov Monastery, rumored to be Vlad the Impaler’s burial place.

Afternoon: Head back to Bucharest and, if time allows, embark on a scenic drive along part of the Transfagarasan Highway.

Day 4: Leisure and Departure

Morning: Spend your last morning exploring the city at your own pace, perhaps visiting a market like Obor Market or relaxing in Herestrau Park.
Lunch: Have lunch at one of the city’s many cafes, such as Clouds Coffee or Cafe Guverneur.
Afternoon/Evening: Depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to pick up souvenirs or revisit favorite spots before heading to the airport for your departure.
