Brunei Darussalam 5-Day Tourist Itinerary (Markdown Version)
Day 1: Arrival & City Exploration
- Arrival at Brunei International Airport (KBR) - Visa on Arrival for some countries, check Brunei’s Immigration Department for details.
- Transportation - Taxis or hired cars available at the airport. Brunei uses a fixed fare system for taxis, so there is no need to worry about meters.
- Hotel Check-in - Recommended: Empire Hotel & Country Club or The Empowerment Centre (a youth hostel) for budget travelers.
- Lunch - Try local dishes such as Nasi Katok (steamed rice with a fried fish or chicken wing on top) at a roadside stall.
- Jame’ Asr Mosque - A beautiful contemporary mosque that can be visited by non-Muslims outside prayer times.
- Tourist Information Centre (TIC) - Located in the heart of Bandar Seri Begawan, the TIC offers free maps and brochures to help you plan your trip.
Day 2: Royal Regalia & Keranggu Recreational Park
- Breakfast at Hotel
- Royal Regalia Museum - A museum showcasing Brunei’s royal heritage, including artifacts from the coronation of the Sultan. (Admission Fee: BND 5)
- Lunch - Head to a local restaurant or food court for a variety of dishes.
- Keranggu Recreational Park - Spend the afternoon at this scenic park, which features a mini waterfall, hiking trails, and picnic areas.
- Dinner - Explore the night market (Saat) in Bandar Seri Begawan for local street food and souvenirs.
Day 3: Ulu Temburong National Park
- Early Morning Departure - Join a guided tour to Ulu Temburong National Park, which requires permission to enter. (Tours usually include accommodation, meals, and park fees.)
- Canopy Walkway - Experience the rainforest from the Canopy Walkway, offering stunning views of the treetops and wildlife.
- Afternoon Activities - Options include river kayaking, jungle trekking, or birdwatching.
- Dinner & Overnight Stay - In the park’s lodge or a campsite, depending on your tour package.
Day 4: Return to BSB & Kampong Ayer
- Breakfast at Ulu Temburong National Park
- Return Journey - Travel back to Bandar Seri Begawan and spend the rest of the day exploring Kampong Ayer, the world’s largest water village.
- Lunch - Try Ambuyat (sticky rice dish) in a restaurant overlooking Kampong Ayer.
- Water Village & Cultural Centre - Learn about the history and culture of Brunei’s Iban community and take a boat ride through the stilts homes. (Admission Fee: BND 5)
- Dinner - Enjoy seafood at one of the many restaurants in Kampong Ayer or back in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Day 5: Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque & Departure
- Breakfast at Hotel
- Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque - Visit this stunning mosque, which is especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset. (Photography is not allowed inside the mosque.)
- Lunch - Have a farewell meal at a restaurant of your choice.
- Shopping & Departure - Pick up any last-minute souvenirs or gifts, then head to Brunei International Airport for your flight home.
