Botswana 3 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Maun and Okavango Delta

Arrival at Maun (MBW) Airport: Welcome to Botswana! You’ll need a valid passport and a yellow fever certificate. Tourist visas can be obtained upon arrival for most nationalities, but it’s best to check the current visa requirements for your country before travel.
-
Transportation: Book a transfer from Maun Airport to your lodge in the Okavango Delta. This can be done as a shared shuttle or a private charter plane. The delta is one of Botswana’s most famous attractions, offering wildlife viewing in pristine wetlands.
-
Activities: Spend your first day exploring the Okavango Delta with activities like mokoro (traditional canoe) rides, game drives, and birdwatching. Some lodges offer walking safaris as well.
-
Things to Know: The delta is a fragile ecosystem, so it’s important to follow your guide’s instructions and respect the wildlife and environment. Also, remember that Botswana uses the Pula (BWP) as its currency.
Day 2: Okavango Delta and More Wildlife Spotting
-
Activities: Continue exploring the Okavango Delta. Morning and afternoon game drives are common, providing opportunities to see elephants, lions, hippos, and a variety of bird species. Remember to take a good pair of binoculars!
-
Things to Know: Botswana is home to the world’s largest elephant population and has one of the highest wildlife densities in Africa. Respect the animals at all times.
Day 3: Chobe National Park and Departure
-
Transportation: Travel from your Okavango Delta lodge to Kasane, where you can connect with a road transfer or charter flight to Chobe National Park.
-
Activities: Spend the morning in Chobe National Park, taking a boat cruise on the Chobe River. This offers excellent views of elephants, hippos, and crocodiles. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive before your departure.
-
Departure: Depending on your flight schedule, you may need to return to Maun for your international flight home. If so, arrange your transfer to Maun in advance. Safe travels!
