Belize 7-Day Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Belize City & Orientation

  • Arrive at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE).
  • Get your Belize Visa, if necessary (Check here for visa requirements).
  • Transfer to your hotel in Belize City or nearby.
  • Rest and acclimate. In the evening, explore local restaurants and nightlife.

Day 2: Belize City Sightseeing & History Tour

  • Visit the Museum of Belize, St. John’s Cathedral, and the House of Culture.
  • Explore the historic district of Belize City, including the Barracks, Fort George, and the British Honduras Memorial Park.
  • In the afternoon, head to the Belize Zoo or the Tropical Education Center for a taste of Belize’s wildlife.

Day 3: Mayan Ruins & Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave Tour

  • Head to the Cayo District for a tour of Caracol, one of the largest Maya sites in Belize.
  • After lunch, embark on an adventure to the ATM cave. This involves a guided hike through the jungle and a swim in the crystal-clear waters leading to the ancient Mayan ceremonial site.
  • Overnight stay in San Ignacio Town.

Day 4: Cayo District Activities & Xunantunich Ruins

  • Spend the morning visiting the Butterfly Farm, Iguana Conservation Project, or Barton Creek Cave.
  • In the afternoon, visit the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich. Climb El Castillo for a panoramic view of Belize and Guatemala.
  • Return to San Ignacio Town in the evening.

Day 5: Transfer to Placencia & Placencia Village Tour

  • Travel south to the coastal village of Placencia.
  • Spend the afternoon exploring the quaint Placencia Village, visiting the Lubaan Jaan Heritage Center, and shopping for local crafts.
  • Relax on the beautiful beaches in the evening.

Day 6: Monkey River Tour & Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary

  • Take a guided tour of Monkey River, where you can spot howler monkeys, crocodiles, and various bird species.
  • In the afternoon, visit the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the world’s premier jaguar preserves.
  • Overnight stay in Placencia.

Day 7: Goff’s Caye & Belize Barrier Reef Snorkeling Tour

  • Embark on a full-day tour to Goff’s Caye, part of the Belize Barrier Reef.
  • Enjoy snorkeling with colorful fish, sea turtles, and possibly sharks.
  • Return to Placencia in the evening for your last dinner in Belize.
