Bangladesh 6-Day Tourist Itinerary (Markdown Format)
Day 1: Dhaka - Explore the Capital City
- Arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka.
- Check-in at a hotel in Gulshan or Dhanmondi area.
- Visit Laxmi Temple, one of the few Hindu temples in Dhaka.
- Explore Dhaka University and its beautiful campus.
- Stroll around Gawra Bazar for traditional Bengali goods.
- Evening visit to the illuminated Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.
- Overnight at hotel in Dhaka.
Day 2: Dhaka - Historic Sites & Local Culture
- Visit Ahsan Manzil, the pink palace of the Nawabs of Dhaka.
- Explore Lalbagh Fort and Bangladesh National Museum.
- Lunch at a local restaurant to try traditional Bengali cuisine.
- Afternoon visit to Dhakeshwari Temple, one of the oldest temples in Bangladesh.
- In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on the Buriganga River.
- Overnight at hotel in Dhaka.
Day 3: Day Trip to Sylhet - Tea Gardens & Waterfalls
- Early morning flight or long drive to Sylhet.
- Visit Jainti Hills, home to beautiful tea gardens and the Jaintia tribe.
- Explore Lawachara National Park for its rich biodiversity.
- Visit the Ratargul Swamp Forest.
- Afternoon visit to the stunning Jarkatail Waterfall.
- Evening return to Sylhet or Dhaka (if staying overnight in Sylhet, explore local markets and restaurants).
Day 4: Day Trip to Rajshahi - Ancient City & Silk Weaving
- Early morning drive to Rajshahi.
- Visit the ancient Temple of Rajarajeshwari.
- Explore the Rajshahi University Campus and its historic buildings.
- Lunch at a local restaurant in Rajshahi.
- Afternoon visit to the Shiva Temple in Puthia.
- Learn about silk weaving at the Silk Weavers’ Cooperative Society.
- Evening return to Dhaka (or overnight stay in Rajshahi, if preferred).
Day 5: Day Trip to Sundarbans - World’s Largest Mangrove Forest
- Early morning departure for Sundarbans.
- Boat trip through the mangroves with a chance to see the Royal Bengal Tiger and other wildlife.
- Visit the Jungalbari, an ancient mosque within the forest.
- Evening return to Dhaka.
Day 6: Departure - Last Minute Shopping & Farewell
- Spend the morning at leisure, perhaps for last minute shopping or visiting any missed sights in Dhaka.
- Transfer to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for your onward journey with beautiful memories of Bangladesh.
Visa Requirements: For citizens of most countries, a visa is required to enter Bangladesh. You can apply for an e-visa online at www.immigration.gov.bd.
Transportation: Domestic flights are available within Bangladesh, operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines. Road transportation is also convenient, with both public and private buses, rickshaws, and taxis available.
Safety & Health: Always be aware of your surroundings and avoid deserted areas at night. Drink only bottled water and avoid street food unless it has been properly cooked or sealed.
Tipping: It’s customary to tip 5-10% in restaurants and hotels, depending on service quality. Guides and drivers should also be tipped around USD 3-5 per day.
Language: Bengali is the official language of Bangladesh. English is widely spoken by younger generations and in most tourist areas.
Electricity: The electrical standard in Bangladesh is 230V, 50Hz. Sockets take types D and C plugs.
