Day 1: Vienna (Wien)

  1. Morning: Start your day with a visit to the iconic Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburgs. Explore the palace, gardens, and even the Imperial Menagerie (Zoo).

  2. Afternoon: Head to the historic city center where you can find St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Stephansdom), one of Vienna’s most recognizable landmarks. Don’t miss the catacombs underneath!

  3. Evening: Take a stroll along the bustling Graben and Kohlmarkt streets, known for their high-end shops, cafes, and historic buildings. End your day with a traditional Viennese dinner at one of the city’s many wine taverns (Heurigen).

Things to Know: Vienna is famous for its coffee culture, so make sure to try a Viennese Coffee (Wiener Kaffeerunde) at a traditional coffee house. Also, remember that most shops and attractions close early on Sundays.

Transportation: Vienna has an excellent public transportation system, including trams, buses, and the metro (U-Bahn). Consider getting a 72-hour travel card for unlimited travel within zones 1-2.

Day 2: Salzburg

Transportation: Trains run frequently between Vienna and Salzburg. Once in Salzburg, the city center is easily explored on foot.

Day 3: Innsbruck

  1. Morning: Head to Innsbruck by train (approximately 2 hours from Salzburg). Visit the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), a city landmark adorned with 2,657 fire-gilded copper tiles.

  2. Afternoon: Explore the Innsbruck Alpine Zoo or take a cable car up to Nordkette, offering stunning views of the Tyrolean Alps.
