Anguilla 3-Day Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Discovering Anguilla’s Capital and Beaches

  1. Morning: Arrive at Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA). After customs and immigration formalities, take a taxi to the capital, The Valley (approximately $10 USD). Visit the Government House, which is a historic landmark, and the Wallblake Estate, home to Anguilla’s first sugar mill.

  2. Afternoon: Head to Shoal Bay East, one of Anguilla’s most beautiful beaches with pristine white sand and turquoise waters. Enjoy lunch at one of the beachfront restaurants such as Blanchards or Johnno’s.

  3. Evening: Visit Rendezvous Bay, another stunning beach on the western side of the island. Have dinner at Veya, a farm-to-table restaurant with an excellent selection of Caribbean and Mediterranean dishes.

Day 2: Scenic Exploration and Island Culture

  1. Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Heritage Collection Museum in The Valley to learn about Anguilla’s history and culture. Next, head to Crocus Hill for panoramic views of the island.

  2. Afternoon: Head to Scrub Island to snorkel at Prickly Pear Cays Marine Park (remember to bring your own gear or rent it from a local shop). Don’t forget to visit Sandy Island, a small islet with clear waters and a beach bar for lunch.

  3. Evening: Visit Maundays Bay, the location of the popular TV show “I Dream of Jeannie.” Enjoy dinner at Straw Hat or Picante, both located in The Valley.

Day 3: Relaxation and Island Attractions

  1. Morning: Spend your final morning at Meads Bay, another breathtaking beach on Anguilla’s west coast. You can also explore the nearby Cap Juluca resort, known for its iconic pink-and-white villas.

  2. Afternoon: Visit the Little Bay, a secluded cove accessible only by boat (you can arrange this through local tour operators or your hotel). Spend some peaceful time here before returning to The Valley.

  3. Evening: Enjoy a farewell dinner at COCOS Hut, a beachfront restaurant in Island Harbour, Anguilla’s fishing village. Try the fresh seafood and soak up the local atmosphere.

Things to Know:

  1. Anguilla is part of the British overseas territories, so the official language is English.
  2. The island uses the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD), but US dollars are widely accepted.
  3. Taxis are readily available and affordable. Rental cars can also be arranged if you prefer self-driving.
  4. Anguilla is relatively safe, but it’s always a good idea to keep your belongings secure, especially at the beach.
