7-Day Itinerary for Exploring Agra, India

Day 1: Arrival & Taj Mahal

  • Arrive at Kheria Airport (AGR) or train at Agra Cantt Station.
  • Check-in at a hotel near the Taj Mahal for easy access (recommendations: The Oberoi Amarvilas, Trident Agra, The Taj West End).
  • Afternoon visit to Taj Mahal - UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Remember to follow dress code (no shorts or sleeveless tops).
  • Evening meal at Pinch of Spice - A popular rooftop restaurant offering great views of the Taj Mahal.

Day 2: Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri

  • Morning visit to Agra Fort - another UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to several notable structures like the Diwan-i-Khas and Musamman Burj.
  • Post lunch, head out to Fatehpur Sikri, an abandoned city built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1569.

Day 4: Local Markets & Mehtab Bagh

Day 5: Akbar’s Mausoleum & Itimad-ud-Daulah

Day 6: Keoladeo National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary

  • Early morning drive to Bharatpur (3 hours from Agra) to visit the Keoladeo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest waterfowl habitats in the world.
  • Return to Agra in the evening for a final dinner at your choice of restaurant.

Day 7: Departure

  • Check-out from hotel, depart for Kheria Airport (AGR) or Agra Cantt Station for onward journey.
