Mount Shaoshi and the Golden Buddha Temple

Mount Shaoshi is one of the sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism and home to the famous Golden Buddha Temple (Jiuwu Si). The temple houses a 12-meter tall sitting Buddha statue, one of the largest Buddha statues in China. The temple complex also includes pagodas, halls, and rock carvings that date back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD).

These caves contain over 51,000 statues and 492 cave temples dating back to the Northern Wei Dynasty. The Five Caves Cluster is the most famous area, which includes the Tianwang Dong (Heavenly King Cave), the Yunle Kong (Cloud Dragon Palace), and others.
